Gregory John Norman famous as Greg Norman; The White Shark or The Shark, is one of the all-time top golfers in the world and member of World Golf Hall of Fame. Some golf writers and analysts mention him as the best Australian Golfer of the all time. He has around 90 victories under his belt, 2 of which are majors; The British Open 1986 and 1993. His best result is second in all the other three major championships, he could never taste a victory in any major tournament on American soil. For six consecutive years, he held the position of the world number one golfer. Norman has 20 PGA tournaments and 14 European tour wins and he is the first player to win 10 million in the history of golf tours. His best wins include a Canadian Open match when he defeated Jack Nicklaus with a margin of 2 strokes in 1984 and his Kamper Open win over Mark O’Meran with the lead of five strokes. He defeated David Dual in Memorial Tournament in 1995 and in NEC World Series of Golf he outclassed Phil Mickelson with a difference of 4 strokes in 1997.

Greg Norman has played 12 playoffs in PGA tour and lost 8 times, he lost all the majors tournaments on the playoff. His record of the playoff in European tour is 6 defeats with only 1 win in Panasonic European Open when he won the playoff on the very first hole with a birdie against Ken Brown of Scotland in 1986. Norman appeared 91 times in major tournaments and 71 times he made cut, 20 times he finished in top 20, 4 times he stood third, 8 times he was second, and 2 times he finished at first position

Norman is doing many businesses after his retirement from golf, he rose to prominence in the field of golf design and earned his name in the list of top golf course designers. His company GNGCD has designed more than 100 golf courses around the world; covering 34 countries of 6 continents. Two designs of Greg Norman listed in the top 100 golf clubs in the world which are Le Perouse and Hunter Valley golf club both in New Wales. His one of the most beautiful and the most challenging golf course is Brookwater Golf Club in Queensland, Australia. It is a PGA standard 18 holes course with an aggregate score of 72 par. The course contains lush greens, natural waterways, and well-planned fairways with a combination of hilly and flat terrain. Each hole requires different planning and placement for the tee shot. A successful tee shot gifting a good angle of attack for the approach shot. The most special aspect of fairways is that all are unequaled while 14 are dogleg.

Norman’s other businesses include Greg Norman Real Estate where he is doing construction and development business, famous project of GNRE is in Florida, America, where he built a Medalist Village. The Greg Norman Design Group is doing interior decoration business in the USA. Greg along with his son Norman Jr designed a Park named Shark Wake Park in California. Greg Norman Eyewear is making sports sunglasses which are gaining popularity in the field of golf. Shark Experience is a multimedia golf cart along with a LED and a touch panel.

Norman is known as the white shark because of his height and aggressive style of golf. He never preferred to play safely in any situation and won many championships due to his style. His aggression had also cost him many wins especially The Masters Open 1996 when he gave away the lead of six strokes on the final day and finished second and missed the chance to become the first Australian to wear the green jacket, Nick Faldo won that match with the lead of five strokes. In 2008, after a layoff of almost three years, Greg Norman came back to play major tournaments, he took lead in the final round but finished third in The British Open tournament, after 1 year Norman quit playing golf when he missed cut in 2 major tournaments, The Masters and The British Open Championships. He worked with FoxSports as a commentator and analyst for USGA in 2015.
