Bobby Jones the ever best amateur in the history of golf, quit playing golf due to health issues and started to design a course along with an investment banker Clifford Roberts and an architect named Alister MacKenzie. The defending champion will always get the caddie wearing number 1 blazer and the rest will get the caddies according to their order of registration in the tournament. These customs have made the event more catching. Bobby never allowed a female to be a golf member because his philosophy about golf was “ Golf is the game of gentlemen only”.

85 years of the marvelous game has set many records. The first winner was Horton Smith in 1934 with the score of -4 and his share was 1500 USD. Horton Smith regained the green glory in 1936. The most victorious player is Jack Nicklaus with 6 wins in 13 years and his successor is Tiger woods with 5 times. Arnold Palmer and Jimmy Demaret, Garry Player, Nick Faldo, Sam Snead, and Phil Mickelson are other Big names of this event.
