Bear Valley Mountain Resort consists of two major components:

BEAR VALLEY MOUNTAIN and the VILLAGE CENTER AT BEAR VALLEY

The Village Center is a re-development site approximately two miles from the ski area via SR4, but actually adjoins the south side of the mountain and is accessible by ski trails. A chair lift is planned to connect the mountain and village.

Bear Valley Mountain is a popular, 1,700-acre ski resort in California’s Sierra Nevada. Located halfway between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite in Northern California’s Gold Country, Bear Valley is a family-friendly community and year-round recreation area that is only 3.5 hours from the Bay Area. Winter activities include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and backcountry adventures. The Mountain Day Lodge offers several dining options, rental gear and a retail shop. Summertime activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, river rafting, fishing and rock climbing, as well as music festivals and wine tasting.

The re-development portion of this offering includes approximately 14 acres of fully entitled, developable land in the Village Center at Bear Valley. The Village Center is presently encumbered by the Bear Valley Lodge and adjacent commercial center, both of which are anticipated to be demolished and cleared for new development. The new master plan includes approvals for 350 residential units, plus 40,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The planned centerpiece is a high-speed lift connecting the new Village Center to Bear Valley Mountain, ultimately creating a ski-in / ski-out town.
