Golf Carts Roundup

E-Z-GO

E-Z-GO has redesigned the TXT® golf car, updating the model’s classic look and proven performance while delivering a host of refined features to offer a better golfing experience, increased fleet durability and simpler maintenance.

Storage pockets are placed higher in the dash to protect stored items from the elements. Cup holders provide 45 percent more volume and are relocated to a more central position in the vehicle to prevent spills. Seatbacks are 23 percent larger to make every round a more pleasant experience.

Ball holders are now mounted in the outside dash pockets for easy access from outside the vehicle. The oversized bag well accommodates larger golf bags, has fewer places for dirt to collect, and new drainage holes to help eliminate standing water.

“We remade the TXT to give our customers a golf car that was even easier to maintain, and to provide the premium features and conveniences expected by today’s golfers,” says Michael R. Parkhurst, vice president, golf for E-Z-GO. “The refined TXT has more of what you need, while still providing the unmatched level of performance that’s made our TXT the industry’s most trusted golf car for more than 15 years.”

CUSHMAN

Cushman® has introduced the next evolution in golf utility vehicles, a fully electric Cushman Hauler™ PRO with a 72-volt AC drive train that provides the range and power once exclusive to gas-powered machines in a silent, zero-emissions vehicle. Cushman vehicles are manufactured by the E-Z-GO Division of Textron Inc.

The new Hauler PRO features a 72-volt AC electric drive train, upgraded from more traditional 48-volt systems, that offers up to 50 fully-loaded miles of range between charges. The patented AC Drive technology also ensures that the Hauler PRO maintains consistent power and performance from the first pre-dawn chores to the last light of dusk, without the noisy drone of a gas engine.

The AC Drive technology is up to 25 percent more energy-efficient than DC technology, and also provides for unique features such as regenerative braking that recharges the batteries whenever the vehicle’s brakes are applied and also speed control to maintain constant speeds up and down steep slopes.

“This new Cushman Hauler PRO gives superintendents the range and power of a gas-powered UTV, but in a silent, electric model a golf course needs,” says Mike Parkhurst, vice president, Golf for E-Z-GO and Cushman. “Cushman has a history of providing superintendents with reliable vehicles to tackle any job and the Hauler PRO is no different.”

CLUB CAR

Club Car has produced the first four-passenger vehicle designed specifically for golf and fun. The Precedent 4Fun helps courses make the golf experience more enjoyable for families, couples, women, juniors and seniors by keeping players more connected during the round.

“The more opportunities golf offers players to enjoy the company of everyone in their group the more attractive the game becomes for larger segments of the population,” says Marc Dufour, president and CEO of Club Car.

Dufour said Club Car expects the Precedent 4Fun will be popular at courses that want to create new opportunities for their members and guests to enjoy the camaraderie and fun of a round of golf. “That also means new revenue opportunities for the course,” he says.

The new vehicle is piloted in cooperation with the PGA of America at courses that have established Get Golf Ready programs. Get Golf Ready is the golf industry’s grow-the-game program designed to attract new players and bring former golfers back to the sport. The Precedent 4Fun features front-facing seats for four passengers along with attachments for four golf bags, including junior-sized bags; additional cup holders and a rear passenger hip restraint.

YAMAHA

Yamaha Golf-Car Company has introduced Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) as a standard feature for Yamaha fleet golf cars.

As an industry first, the Yamaha Electronic Fuel Injection system offers many benefits over traditional carbureted fuel delivery systems.

“We’re excited to be the first golf car manufacturer to offer Electronic Fuel Injection to our fleet customers” says Tom McDonald, president of Yamaha Golf-Car Company.

McDonald adds, “We were able to draw from the technology gained in manufacturing other reliable Yamaha products such as Wave Runners, outboard motors, motorcycles and ATV’s that also have Fuel Injection. I think the benefits of Fuel Injection will elevate our cars to an unprecedented level, not to mention the benefit of potentially saving thousands of dollars in fuel costs.”

Those benefits include:

• The greenest gasoline-powered golf car available with the industry’s smallest carbon footprint.

• Cleaner burning with less exhaust emissions.

• Smoother, more responsive acceleration.

• No choke required.

• No need to re-jet to compensate for less dense air in higher altitudes.

• Provides as much as 34 percent better gas mileage than the competition, according to independent verification conducted by Applied Technical Services testing.
